NICE – Acupuncture for Back Pain

NICE’s (the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence a part of the UK’s NHS) has decided that acupuncture may be made available on the NHS for chronic lower back pain. This acknowledgement that acupuncture has sufficient evidence of its effectiveness for chronic (long term) lower back pain is long overdue, but has been welcomed by acupuncturists in the UK.

Although this doesn’t mean the individual NHS providers actually offer acupuncture, but this rubber stamp can give people suffering chronic lower back pain the confidence to seek out professional private acupuncture treatment such as we provide at glasgow-acupuncture.co.uk.

Back pain affects more than a million people in the UK with 95% of patients suffering from lower back pain problems. You can be confident that the acupuncturist’s here at glasgow-acupuncture are competent as they are registered the UK’s leading body – the British Acupuncture Council.
